MEDICAL FORUM THEATRE CELEBRATE 67 MIN FOR MANDELA DAY
To commemorate and celebrate the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela, staff from Medical Forum Theatre (MFT) responded to the nationwide call to action to help make a difference in someone else’s life or helps make their lives a little bit easier on International Nelson Mandela Day 2016
MFT chose to assist Nkosinathi Foundation for the Visually Impaired, situated in North End, Port Elizabeth. The foundation does wonderful work in supporting newly blinded children and adults in whichever means possible, helping them to meet the challenges they may face due to the loss of sight.
Our staff spent their 67min repainting steps, cleaning the surrounding gardens, revamping their court yard area with new sensory plants, installing shade cloth and assisting with general maintenance needs around their building.
The Nkosinathi Foundation family warmly welcomed all the volunteers and provided them with a wonderful lunch as a token of their appreciation. The afternoon was filled with much joy and laughter as toiletry hampers were handed over to the Foundation to be given to their members in need.
A wonderful opportunity and humbling experience for all at Medical Forum Theatre Day Hospital to be a part of this project.
