In an effort ensure the safety of our doctors, staff and patients we have had to implement strict Infection Prevention and Control procedures in alignment with the National Health Department’s strategy as well as the World Health Organization’s (WHO) guidelines.
All patients (and support persons in the case of minors) are required to undergo COVID19 testing before being admitted to MFT. Please ensure that the pre-admission tests for COVID19 are booked in advance and done no more than 72 hours prior to your scheduled procedure. It is of utmost importance that patients self-isolate from the time of the test until the day of your procedure. Should the patient be a minor and need to be accompanied by a guardian, they (the parent/ guardian or support person) will also need to undergo the COVID19 testing to be permitted entry into the facility and follow the same self-isolation process as the patient.
The COVID19 test results must be sent to our Admissions department by no later than 14h00 the day prior to the procedure via email to number@eyeandlasersa.com and theatre@eyeandlasersa.com.
If this is not received you / the patient will not be permitted entry into the facility and the procedure will need to be rescheduled. This will result in the patient having to go for another COVID-19 test prior to their new procedure date and follow the self-isolation process again.
Our current screening process that was implemented in April 2020 will continue to take place at the entrances to the facility by our screening nurses.
