Based on the trajectory of the pandemic, vaccination uptake by our employees and the uptake within the community and the optimism from Government leaders promoting policy shifts in the direction of treating COVID-19 as endemic we have revised our COVID-19 Protocols at Medical Forum Theatre (MFT) and implemented changes with immediate effect.
Patient Testing:
- PCR COVID-19 testing will no longer be a requirement for patient admissions at Medical Forum Theatre unless otherwise decided by the attending Doctor.
- Fully vaccinated patients will be required to send their vaccination certificate/card to our MFT Admissions Department with their pre-Admissions documents as well as bring their original certificate with on the day of their procedure, but will not be required to undergo any COVID-19 Testing unless they are symptomatic – Rapid Testing (Ag-RDT) may then be required.
- Unvaccinated patients (and minors not eligible for vaccination) will be required to undergo a Rapid Test (Ag-RDT) no more than 24 hours prior to their procedure these result must be sent to our Admissions Department at number@eyeandlasersa.com and infectioncontrol@eyeandlasersa.com .

Our Management Team will continue to monitor COVID-19 in the Metro to re-evaluate our protocols wherever necessary and inform all stakeholders of any changes.
We continue to adhere to the following COVID-19 protocols:
- All persons entering the facility must wear a facemasks at all times,
- Permanent hand sanitizers are situated around the hospital building and additional hand sanitizing station at the entrances to our facility,
- Social distancing measures remain in place. All staff, visitors and patients are reminded to keep a 1.5m distance from others.
