The White Cane Charity Run is hosted annually by The Eye and Laser Institute, Specsavers, Walmer Athletics Club and Nkosinathi Foundation for the Visually Impaired and Medical Forum Theatre.

This initiative was created to generate support for the visually impaired/ blind community, build awareness around the meaning of the white cane and to raise funds for Nkosinathi Foundation.

This year (2017) marked the 6th Annual White Cane Fun Walk in Port Elizabeth. The event was held on Saturday, 21 October 2017 at the Sun Boardwalk Casino and Entertainment Centre and had over 750 entries.

The Race has grown significantly over six years and boasted a 5km walk, a 10km league race and a White Cane Team Challenge. The Team Challenge dared families, friends and corporates to “Walk the Walk” and be a part of something BIG by putting themselves in the shoes of a blind/partially sighted person.

Thank you to all the participants that made this event a wonderful success and helped raise funds for Nkosinathi Foundation for the Visually Impaired.
